The North Course at Te Arai Links is another of Tom Doak’s masterpieces, starting and finishing on the ocean, this course unravels and has more holes inland than the South while offering a very different test and experience. Elevation, natural bunkers, and uniquely shaped greens are just some of the attributes of the North Course. Whilst you may not have as many ocean view holes, Te Arai Links’ North Course’s 5th hole and 6th tee sit high on a ridge adjacent to an ancient Māori Pa, or hill fortress, built from the largest dune on the property, while the 4th, 6th, 7th and 9th greens sit in a shared bowl amongst the dunes. A course that is destined to be one of the best in New Zealand.
